Caption Captain

Over Thanksgiving break in 2025, I watched a lot of videos of people using AI to vibe code real software. I decided to try it on a project at work that had gone unresourced for at least two years.

Mux, the video platform we use, auto-generates caption tracks, but its admin tools give you no way to edit or replace them. When a track misspelled a name or got a proper noun wrong, we were stuck with it.

I built tooling to close that gap. Then I added a caption editor in the browser and the option to generate captions with AWS, Microsoft, or Google instead. I launched it that same week as Caption Captain. It was the start of an intense retooling, both for me and for the team at Slytrunk.
